Frequently Asked Questions
My ceramics are made in small batches in my home studio and are designed to include the marks of making by hand. Slight variations in size, shape, and glaze between pieces and batches are to be expected and I savour this as part of what makes handmade ceramics so special. Every piece is crafted with care and attention to detail, ensuring it’s both functional and beautiful.
My work is made using high-fired stoneware, making it durable and suitable for domestic ware.
Most of my tableware items are dishwasher safe, although washing by hand is always preferable as dishwashing temperatures and detergents can be very hard on ceramics. Over time, the glaze may be dulled—much in the same way glasses can go cloudy over time if constantly washed in a dishwasher. If a dishwasher is used care should be taken when loading to avoid breakages.
As for microwaves, I occasionally pop mugs of coffee in mine for a quick 10-second reheat, but as I can't test all microwaves and mugs, I am unwilling to advertise my work as explicitly microwave safe.
If a piece has special care instructions, they will be noted on the product page.
I accept commissions on a case-by-case basis, depending on my availability and whether I feel confident I can bring your idea to life. While I’m always happy to discuss ideas, I prefer to focus on the pieces I make regularly, as these are where I’ve honed my skills and can deliver my best work.
If you’d like to chat about a potential project, feel free to get in touch through my Contact page, and I’ll let you know if it’s something I can take on.
At the start of each making cycle, I also open my main collection to pre-orders. If you’d like to be kept up to date about pre-orders you can join my mailing list. You’ll also get exclusive early access to pre-orders and shop updates.
My work is currently available at a number of shops, galleries and cafés in North Wales and further afield. Please see my About page for a list of stockists. If you are interested in stocking my work, please feel free to contact me, and I’ll be happy to discuss availability and terms.
The best way to stay in the loop is to join my mailing list. I’ll send updates when new work is released, workshops become available, or other exciting news is happening in the studio. By signing up, you’ll also get exclusive early-access to shop updates, pre-orders and workshop date releases.
My studio is not open to the public as it is at my home, but I do host open studio events and studio sales throughout the year. Again, my mailing list is the best way to hear about these events.
I don’t have a fixed schedule for restocks—it all depends on how long it takes to create a collection. Handmade ceramics take time, and I want each piece to feel just right. The best way to hear about new pieces is to join my mailing list or follow me on social media.
I aim to ship all orders within three working days. Delivery times will vary depending on your location and the shipping method you choose at checkout. You’ll receive tracking information as soon as your order has been dispatched.
Currently, I ship within the UK, but I hope to offer international shipping in the future. If you’re overseas and interested in my work, please get in touch to discuss options.
I take great care when packaging my work, but occasionally things can go wrong during transit. If your item arrives damaged, please contact me within two days of receiving your order. Be sure to include photos of the damaged item and packaging, and I’ll do my best to resolve the issue.
I really hope you are happy with your purchase, but I do appreciate that sometimes an item arrives that is not quite as expected or a gifted item is surplus to requirement. If you wish to return an item, please send me an email within 14 days of receipt and I will offer a full refund on its safe return. The buyer will be expected to pay the return postage unless the item is faulty and all items must be returned undamaged.
