Carved pot in Shino with driftwood handle

Carved lidded pot, made from a rich iron-bearing clay and finished with a traditional Shino glaze. Fired in a wood kiln, the clay and glaze react to create bubbles and craters reminiscent of the barnacle-covered rocks of the Anglesey coastline. The lid is finished with a piece of driftwood collected from the beach coves of Rhoscolyn on the west coast of the island.

Approximate dimensions: H 10cm x ø 12cm.

This pot is lined with a food-safe glaze for use in the kitchen or at the table, if desired. 

 Gentle handwash recommended, taking care to avoid the driftwood handle.
