Carved by hand from a single block of clay over several days using the traditional Japanese kurinuki technique, this piece carries the marks and texture of the making process—irregular planes, hard edges, and an organic form. The weathered green glaze highlights the edges of the carving and reacts to the flame, ash and temperature of the wood kiln to create depth, speckle, and subtle shifts in tone. With a food-safe white liner glaze, this is a unique, functional statement piece for everyday use.
