Stoneware jar with flashing slips, wood ash, Oribe and rutile blue glazes
£190.00Price
A one-of-a-kind jar and true statement piece. Thrown on the potter’s wheel, then glazed with flashing slips, wood ash, and layers of Oribe and rutile blue. The jar was then laid on shells and fired in a wood kiln for 14 hours. During the firing, the clay and glaze react with the flames and ash in the kiln, producing flowing ash rivulets, vivid flashes of colour, and deep flecks of carbon — each mark a trace of the firing.
Jar is approximately 25cm tall.
